Welcome to GGN in Hejdeby!

As a visitor to the Gotland Grand National, you’ll find all the information you need here about the Hejdeby area and the race. This guide is for those of you who are traveling to or are already in the area—to help you find your way and stay up to date with the latest information: where to buy admission tickets to the venue, the start times and racing classes, the bus schedules within the venue, which exhibitors are at the expo area, and what you can buy at our food corner.

It is important that you, as a visitor, show consideration and follow our guidelines!

The Hejdeby area consists of many natural and wildlife habitats. No vehicles other than bicycles are permitted within the area along the entire track and in the arenas. We park our cars in the area around Lundbygatan and then take the bus out to the area.

Bring your bike from home and save money. Admission for anyone who bikes to the event is only 50 SEK.

To avoid overburdening the area with too many cars and too much traffic, we charge only 50 SEK for admission to those who ride their bikes here, and there are many advantages to getting around the area on your own bike.

Good to know!

Welcome to Hejdeby—car-free.
Road 147 will be closed during the competition on Friday and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We therefore ask all spectators to park on Lundbygatan in Visby, where we’ll provide bus transportation for everyone to the event area and the starting line. The bus will run throughout the area and between the various arenas all day long. The bus ride is included in the admission price. Feel free to bring your bike—save some money!

Free buses
Buses run from Lundbygatan – Arena 1 – Start at crosswalk 1 – Buses run Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and cover the entire route. Starting at crosswalk 2 – Arena 2, buses run Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM and cover the entire route; see the visitor map for bus stops.

Medical Services Medical resources are available around the track and in the competition area. The Arena 1 competition area is equipped with defibrillators. If you, as a member of the audience, notice someone in need of assistance, call our emergency number 0761-29 72 43 and contact an official immediately. A first-aid station is located at Arena 1, where a doctor is on site.

We are committed to protecting nature and the environment
We urge all competitors, officials, vendors, partners, and visitors to show great respect for all natural and wildlife habitats in the area, which include alvar grasslands, wetlands, Natura 2000 sites, ancient monuments, crayfish, and many other valuable natural features.  Please take care of your trash and dispose of it at one of Ragnsells’ recycling stations.

Off-Road Driving
No form of off-road driving is permitted within the area without a special permit. Participants are permitted to drive to their own starting point while wearing a helmet. All other driving within the entire area—including cars, motorcycles, and mopeds (including electric vehicles)—is prohibited.

Volunteers
Without the approximately 600 volunteers from 20 clubs and high school classes, GGN would not have been possible. In total, they contribute the equivalent of approximately 800,000 SEK per competition per year for their efforts.

Yes, he really exists—and he’s in Hejdeby!
