What do you need to participate?

To participate in the world’s largest enduro race, the Gotland Grand National, you must have a license for the race issued by Svemo. You can only obtain a license if you are a member of a Svemo-affiliated club, so that is the first thing you need to do. The license serves as insurance for you as a participant in case something happens to you or another participant or official during the race. If you’re coming from another country, you’ll need a starting permit from your country’s federation.

When will the race numbers be released?

We'll release the race numbers about 6 weeks before the race and announce them via email and social media. You'll be able to find your race number in the start list published on the website.

How does seeding work?

Seeding for all classes (except Veteran & Gold Helmet):
We seed based on last year’s results. You are seeded according to your overall finish, so even if you switch classes this year, you will be seeded based on your overall finish from last year, as we match participants using their personal identification numbers.

Seeding for Youth:
Only youth players are seeded; we seed 20 players in each division based on the previous year’s results. You are seeded based on your overall ranking from the previous year, and we match you using your personal identification number. Please note that your seeding does not carry over when you move up to the recreational division.

How do I go about starting later?

We seed participants based solely on their results from the previous year. If you did not compete last year, it is important to register as soon as possible in order to secure a spot based on the order of registration instead. If you encounter any issues with the seeding process, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Is refueling mandatory?

This applies only to the following classes: Elite, Rec, Junior, and E, in which 2 stops are mandatory. It is not necessary to refuel unless needed, but 2 check-ins are required. There are checkpoints at the entry and exit to verify which participants have been through the refueling loop.
