Hejdeby and the surrounding area

Here we have compiled information for GGN 2.0 participants who are interested in private housing, campsites, storage, or parking in Hejdeby and the surrounding area. Since the competition area is located within a water protection zone, overnight stays are prohibited, and the parking lot will be cleared every evening. Instead, we offer an updated list of nearby options so you can easily find the solution that works best for you. We also have a Travel & Accommodations page if you’re interested in hotels or camping.

This information will be updated regularly leading up to the competition, and you are responsible for contacting the various rental companies directly for reservations and details.

GGN Byn – across from Arena 1

Parking spaces for trailers and RVs are available across from Arena 1 (about 60 spaces).
400 SEK/night, 700 SEK/2 nights, and 1,000 SEK/3 nights.

Rent the cozy Hejdeby School for accommodations during GGN!
The schoolis located right in the middle of the competition area, close to everything happening at GGN. Outside, there’s a large gravel area with a playground and a barbecue area. The spacious classroom has sleeping accommodations for 6–8 people, a sofa set, and tables and chairs for meals. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher. Restrooms are located next to the kitchen/classroom, and showers are in the basement. The cost to rent the schoolduring GGN is 350 kronor per person per night.

Machine Shop

Machine hall, 400 square meters. It has three sliding doors, lighting, and 220-volt electricity. Flat concrete floor, lockable, pest-controlled, intact, and clean. As a covered parking area, it might work well for 6 larger travel trailers or motorhomes. That way, people can move around the vehicles a bit. It might be possible to rent this out to a club or organization that needs protection from the weather and theft during GGN week.

MK Gutarna Parking Lot during GGN

Parking spaces for trailers and RVs are available behind the MK Gutarnas clubhouse, subject to availability.
150 SEK/night, no amenities, reservations not accepted. Pay via Swish; information is available on-site.
Address: Broväg 110 Skogsholm, 621 41 Visby (Access from Visbyleden, Route 148; follow signs for “Gokart”).

Grand Piano – Stora Råby in Hejdeby

A simple, standard-style house in Stora Råby, Hejdeby (about 1–2 km from Tibblestäkten). 4 rooms and a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a washing machine. 6 beds total.

There is space available for parking and basic storage of motorcycles in the barn.

The house is located 250 from the starting line; you can stand on the terrace and watch the race start. The entire course is within walking distance. The house is located right in the middle of the course. It’s 130 square meters, with 4 rooms, a kitchen, and two bathrooms, plus 7 beds and a sofa if needed. There’s a washing machine and dryer. We can agree on the rental period, but it must be between 4 and 6 nights.

Price: 19,000 SEK
There is an option to rent a double garage for 4,000 SEK

Apartments, RVs, and parking spaces for rent, just a stone's throw from the race venue (Österbyväg 37, Visby).

A fresh and cozy apartment, located on the upper floor of a large villa. Separate entrance. Two rooms, each with two beds. A small but fully equipped kitchen. A toilet on the ground floor and a shower upstairs. TV in the larger bedroom. A travel trailer available for rent. It contains two beds that are 130 cm wide. The trailer is parked in the yard and is connected to electricity.
Parking space for one RV. Lighted yard and outdoor toilet with lighting. No access to a shower.

Free camping at the Traffic Training Center in Visby

Free camping—that is, a place to park and spend the night—in northern Visby. The traffic training area, Broväg 101; the entrance is marked “MANÖVERBANA.” Just over a 5-minute drive to GGN. Space for about 30 vehicles on a gravel lot; 150 SEK per night.

Kneippbyn's Five-Star Campground

Kneippbyn’s five-star campground is located just five minutes south of the ferry. It offers campsites in a variety of sizes with every amenity you could possibly need. There’s also plenty of space to park your RV right next to your campsite. Of course, you can also add a breakfast buffet.

At Imago Fritid, we are able to offer you the following:

We’ll also have our store/workshop open in the evenings to provide support for you drivers.
