GGN 2025 VS GGN 2024!
After glorious weather during GGN 2024, where 97.71% of participants achieved a result, GGN 2025 turned out to be something entirely different at the new venue in Hejdeby. In our first year in Hejdeby after 40 years at the Tofta shooting range, the course was 100% perfect, and we saw the joy of driving in everyone’s eyes over the two days. GGN 2025 offered something completely different, but even here, most participants expressed their enjoyment of driving. The event presented major challenges for the participants, with 85% achieving a result. We, as organizers, also faced major challenges in saving the competition. WHAT MEASURES ARE BEING TAKEN TO ENSURE THAT GGN WILL ONCE AGAIN BRING DRIVING JOY TO EVERYONE BY 2026!
As soon as the snow has melted on the island, we will investigate both the clear-cut area and the power line corridor with SWECO (consultants) specializing in environmental issues to map water flow, clear-cut areas, ditches, etc. We have allocated 200,000 SEK to dig out ditches, build proper bridges, and install culverts in the ditches so the water can flow naturally. The bridges will be made of stone, gravel, and materials that can withstand harsh conditions. In 2025, we had logs similar to those in 2024, but we had to remove them because the ground became too slippery for the participants. Of course, the GGN can mean mud and water, but just as easily sunshine and warm winds. That’s all part of the challenge of participating in the world’s largest enduro race, the Gotland Grand National, which attracts over 3,000 riders from 18 nations year after year.
We want to assure you right here and now that we take this very seriously and are investing today in the future of the GGN course. Many will still remember GGN 2025 the way many remember Tofta in the ’80s, and people still talk today about the challenges back then. In 10 years, many will look back and say, “I was there, and it was really tough but still a lot of fun.” That’s what we hear from most people today now that the curtain has come down on 2025.
We are aware that it costs a fair amount of money to travel to Gotland and participate in GGN, and that many riders then have to have their motorcycles serviced after the event. This is the case for many people every year, but in 2025 the number was exceptionally high.

We know, of course, that this doesn’t come close to making up for the driving time you missed, but we still want to show you that we’re thinking of you.
