STEVE HOLCOMBE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM, SEVEN-TIME (7) WORLD CHAMPION, IS READY FOR THE GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL!

The world’s largest enduro race—the Gotland Grand National, now in its 40th consecutive year—has, through its partner BETA Scandinavia, secured a world-renowned name for this year’s event.

– It’s a really big deal that Steve Holcombe from Great Britain, a factory rider for the BETA Factory Team, is coming to Gotland and the GGN. He is a seven (7)-time world champion and a two (2)-time Italian champion. Right now, he’s also leading this year’s World Championship series. He could win the entire GGN, even though Swedish competitors like Micke Persson and Albin Elowson are always at the front as the finish line approaches ,” says Conny Bohlin from the organizer, Nordic Sport & Event.

Henrik Lindqvist of GGN partner Beta Scandinavia says the following:

– Our CEO, Christer Granquist, has been in talks with Steve & Beta Factory Racing for several years to secure a start for Steve at GGN. It’s incredibly exciting to be heading over to Gotland with Steve to chase the GGN title. With seven World Championship titles under his belt and currently leading the Enduro GP standings, his sights are naturally set on victory. Steve, however, is approaching the race with humility and is well aware of the tough competition. Steve will be at the Beta Scandinavia tent, along with several of our other riders from Beta Scandinavia NTEK Racing, throughout the weekend. You’ll find us, just like last year, right in the middle of the exhibition street.

The Gotland Grand National has also increased the prize money for the top male and female finishers; at the 2023 GGN, the top male and female finishers will each take home 75,000 SEK. The runners-up will receive 35,000 SEK each, and third-place finishers will receive 15,000 SEK each.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro race, with over 3,000 participants from about 17 different countries each year. In 2023, the race will take place October 26–28 at the Tofta firing range on Gotland.
