GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL AND AFTONBLADET WILL BROADCAST 12 HOURS OF LIVE COVERAGE FROM THIS YEAR'S RACE!
The Gotland Grand National is stepping up its media efforts and has signed a new agreement with Aftonbladet ahead of 2026. A total of 12 hours of live coverage will be broadcast from the world’s largest enduro race, with Aftonbladet reaching a broad Swedish audience while the event is distributed internationally across multiple platforms.
– This is an important step toward making the competition more accessible to both participants and the public. With Aftonbladet as a partner, we’re expanding our reach and can offer a whole new level of coverage. For the first time, family members can now sit at home and follow their children, grandchildren, and runners out on the course. We’re very happy and proud of this,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event, organizer of the Gotland Grand National.
As part of this initiative, the races will be broadcast live for the first time on Friday as well, with a focus on children, teens, and recreational runners. On Saturday, the broadcasts will cover both the mass-participation and elite races along the 25-kilometer course.
Aftonbladet will broadcast parts of the competition nationally via Aftonbladet Plus, giving the event a strong presence in the Swedish market. At the same time, international distribution will be made available to meet the growing global interest in the competition.
“The Gotland Grand National is a unique event that generates a lot of excitement across the country. We look forward to helping make the race accessible to even more viewers,” says Magnus Herbertsson, sports editor at Aftonbladet.
The Gotland Grand National takes place October 22–24, 2026, and attracts more than 3,000 participants from around 18 countries each year. The event is of great importance to the local economy and generates tens of thousands of overnight stays on Gotland every year.
“We’re making a major investment in production and taking a comprehensive approach to the broadcasts, which allows us to maintain a high standard while continuing to develop the event,” says Conny Bohlin.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro race and attracts over 3,000 participants from several countries each year.

– 28,000 guest nights during race week
