PRESS RELEASE 2026-05-08

Gotland Grand National and Aftonbladet to Broadcast 12 Hours Live from This Year’s Event

Gotland Grand National is expanding its media investment through a new agreement with Aftonbladet ahead of the 2026 edition. A total of 12 hours of live coverage will be broadcast from the world’s largest enduro race, enabling Aftonbladet to reach a broad Swedish audience while the event is simultaneously distributed internationally across multiple platforms.

“This is an important step in making the event more accessible for both participants and spectators. With Aftonbladet as our partner, we are significantly strengthening our reach and can offer an entirely new level of coverage. For the first time, family and friends will be able to follow children, grandchildren and recreational riders live from home while they are out on the course. We are very pleased and proud of this development,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event, organizer of Gotland Grand National.

For the first time, the investment also includes live broadcasts on Friday, focusing on children, youth riders and amateur classes. Saturday’s coverage will follow both elite and amateur competitors along the 25-kilometre course.

Aftonbladet will broadcast selected parts of the event nationally through Aftonbladet Plus, providing the event with strong visibility in the Swedish market. At the same time, international distribution will be made available to meet the growing global interest in the competition.

“Gotland Grand National is a unique event with strong engagement across Sweden. We look forward to helping make the competition accessible to even more viewers,” says Magnus Herbertsson, Head of Sports at Aftonbladet.

Gotland Grand National will take place on 22–24 October 2026 and annually attracts more than 3,000 riders from approximately 18 nations. The event plays a significant role in the local economy, generating tens of thousands of guest nights on Gotland each year.

“We are making a major investment in the production and taking a comprehensive approach to the broadcasts, enabling us to maintain a high standard while continuing to develop the event further,” says Conny Bohlin.
