The world’s largest enduro race—the Gotland Grand National—has already announced world-renowned names ahead of this year’s 40th anniversary, such as…

Graham Jarvis, Steve Holcombe, and Jane Daniels—all from Great Britain, with the latter two being world champions—and Larissa Papenmeier from Germany. Together with Sweden’s top riders Albin Elowson, Tyra Bäckström (winner of the 2022 GGN), Micke Persson, and Hanna Berzelius, they are setting the stage for an incredibly exciting race on Gotland on October 28.

“It is with great joy and pride that we can now also present both the German and Danish men’s champions at this year’s GGN,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event, which is organizing the GGN for the 10th year. “The field of competitors for the GGN has probably never been more exciting, and this sets the stage for the spectator event at Tofta Skjutfält to be a huge success,” continues Conny Bohlin.

– Agent Gjermund Frostad, who assists Nordic Sport & Event with international participants and the international press, has announced through both Eddi Hübner and Mathias Jørgensen that they are very much looking forward to competing in the world’s largest enduro race, the Gotland Grand National, in October. Both aim to finish in the top 10, says Gjermund. Mathias Jørgensen, who will represent Denmark in the Motocross des Nations this year, is excited to try this format of competition to see how fast he can navigate the tough terrain on Gotland. Eddie Hübner is currently in second place in the German Cross-Country Championship, and he’ll receive service support from the team at KTM Scandinavia. But as Eddie says, the GGN is something special, and it might be difficult to compete at the top in his first year of participation.

“If the audience can’t experience this excitement and drama in person, SVT Sport will broadcast live for over 5 hours from Gotland, and GGN,” says Conny Bohlin. “It feels like GGN 40 will be exactly the race we want it to be,” Conny concludes.

The Gotland Grand National has also increased the prize money for the top male and female finishers; at the 2023 GGN, the top male and female finishers will each take home 75,000 SEK. The runners-up will receive 35,000 SEK each, and third-place finishers will receive 15,000 SEK each.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro race, with over 3,000 participants from about 17 different countries each year. In 2023, the race will take place October 26–28 at the Tofta firing range on Gotland.
