Eero Remes, enduro world champion, heads to GGN to win

Eero Remes, 2015, 2016, and 2018 enduro world champion, heads to Gotland and GGN to win!
The world’s largest enduro competition—now in its 39th consecutive year—is investing in bringing big names back to Sweden. During the two years of the pandemic, GGN managed to go ahead against all odds but lost foreign participants and big names who had come to win GGN.
“We’ve lost some big names from outside Sweden during the pandemic who couldn’t or shouldn’t have traveled to Sweden and on to Gotland,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event. “But now we’re looking forward to bringing in top-tier athletes who will add excitement to the field of talented Swedish competitors—who are always at the top and have proven that they’re hard to beat on the 22-kilometer course,” Conny Bohlin continues.
– The former Finnish Enduro world champion—Eero Remes—is ready and will compete in 2022. He most recently raced on Gotland and at GGN in 2019. He’s a top contender coming to win GGN. Starting this year, we’ll see Eero Remes racing for Husqvarna Motorcycles.
– Eero Remes says he has never been as well prepared as he will be for this year’s Gotland Grand National. “I’ll run several laps in Sweden before the GGN to prepare as much as possible. I’m going to win the 2022 GGN,” concludes Eero Remes.
The Gotland Grand National has also increased the prize money for the top male and female finishers in the 2022 GGN; the top female and male finishers will each take home 50,000 SEK. The second- and third-place finishers will receive SEK 25,000 and SEK 10,000, respectively. By 2023, the goal is to award SEK 75,000 to the winners, and by 2024, we hope to reach SEK 100,000. Then we will be able to showcase the absolute best in the world at GGN in both the women’s and men’s divisions.
The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro competition, attracting over 3,000 participants from about 17 countries each year. In 2022, the competition will take place on October 28–29 at the Tofta shooting range on Gotland.
