Husqvarna Bicycles is the main partner of GGN E-Bike
PRESS RELEASE – September 10, 2021
HUSQVARNA BICYCLES JOINS AS THE MAIN PARTNER FOR THE E-BIKE COMPETITION ON GOTLAND.
Earlier this year, we announced the big news for the 2021 Gotland Grand National: we’re adding another competition—E-Bike! Now we have more news to share: Husqvarna Bicycles Scandinavia is joining as the main partner for the E-Bike competition.
Anders Sarbäcken, CEO of Husqvarna Bicycles Scandinavia, comments on the collaboration.
– This marks the debut of e-bikes at GGN—a historic moment! Racing is at the heart of our organization, so serving as the main partner for the first e-bike competition at GGN is a great honor for us. E-Bikes are incredibly popular in Europe, and we believe that GGN marks the beginning of something completely new for us as well. E-Bikes are a perfect training tool and complement to motorcycle riding—and above all, they’re a lot of fun!
Juha Salminen, who previously competed in GGN and is a 13-time world champion in enduro, will compete in the men’s E-Bike elite class. Juha is really looking forward to the competition.
– During my motorcycle career, I rode a lot, but never on an electric bike. The E-Bike has completely opened my eyes again—you don’t have to plan your route the way you do on a regular bike. You can take your e-bike on roads you can’t access with a motorcycle, and on roads you can’t handle with a regular bicycle.” Read more about Salminen’s interest in e-bikes: https://www.husqvarna-bicycles.com/en-se/explore/stories/juha-salminen-emtb.html
“We welcome Husqvarna Bicycles to Gotland and GGN as the main partner in our new major investment in expanding the already large GGN weekend,” says Conny Bohlin of Nordic Sport & Event. “With 3,000 participants, 10,000 visitors, and the crowd gathered at the Tofta shooting range, we’re confident that the MTB E-Bike riders are in for a great time as they compete in their own event alongside the world’s largest enduro competition,” Conny Bohlin continues.
Throughout the GGN weekend, Husqvarna Bicycles Scandinavia will offer test rides on select eMTBs, including the Mountain Cross. You can find more models from their lineup in the exhibition area!
