JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPION HAMISH MACDONALD FROM NEW ZEALAND IS SET TO COMPETE IN THE GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL!

The world’s largest enduro race—the Gotland Grand National, now in its 40th consecutive year—has, through its partner Team Sherco Sweden, secured a world-renowned rider for this year’s event.

– With less than two weeks to go until the Gotland Grand National, we’ve now secured the participation of Junior World Champion Hamish Macdonald from New Zealand. “His track record is impressive,” says Conny Bohlin of the organizer, Nordic Sport & Event.

– Thomas Klarkner, Team Manager for Team Sherco Sweden, is looking forward to this year’s GGN with a rider like Hamish Macdonald on the team. “With a rider of his caliber, it will be incredibly exciting to see what we can accomplish on Gotland, but at the same time, we’re humbled by the challenge posed by the incredibly strong field of competitors that GGN is presenting in 2023. GGN is unlike any other enduro race in the world,” concludes Thomas Klarkner.

The Gotland Grand National has also increased the prize money for the top male and female finishers; at the 2023 GGN, the top male and female finishers will each take home 75,000 SEK. The runners-up will receive 35,000 SEK each, and third-place finishers will receive 15,000 SEK each.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro race, with over 3,000 participants from about 17 different countries each year. In 2023, the race will take place October 26–28 at the Tofta firing range on Gotland.
