Junior world champion Hamish Macdonald returns to GGN

NEW ZEALAND JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPION HAMISH MACDONALD RETURNS TO WIN ON GOTLAND!
The world’s largest enduro race—the Gotland Grand National, now in its 41st year—has confirmed, through its partner Team Sherco Sweden, that Hamish Macdonald will return to GGN 2.0 in 2024.
– Hamish Macdonald, who took a fine third-place finish in 2023 as a first-time participant in the strongest starting field in GGN’s history. This year, he faces the same conditions as everyone else, as the GGN track has moved from the Tofta shooting range—after 40 years—to the new location in Hejdeby on Gotland, says Conny Bohlin of the organizer Nordic Sport & Event.

– Thomas Klarkner, Team Manager for Team Sherco Sweden, is looking forward to this year’s GGN 2.0; lining up alongside Hamish Macdonald on the new GGN track will be extremely exciting. Hamish Macdonald will compete in his final World Enduro GP race in France this weekend. Then, he’ll head to Sweden to compete in the final SM Enduro round of the year in Gävle, where he has a chance to secure the overall title in the Swedish Enduro Championship. In the lead-up to GGN, Hamish will train and prepare in Italy for GGN 2.0, says Thomas Klarkner.
The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro competition. In 2023, 3,400 participants from about 15 countries competed in the event. In 2024, it will be held from October 24 to 26 in Hejdeby, Gotland.
