Junior World Champion Hamish Macdonald Returns to GGN

JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPION HAMISH MACDONALD FROM NEW ZEALAND RETURNS TO GOTLAND TO WIN!
The world’s largest enduro race—the Gotland Grand National, now in its 41st consecutive year—has, through its partner Team Sherco Sweden, confirmed that Hamish Macdonald will return to GGN 2.0 in 2024.

– Hamish Macdonald, who took a fine third-place finish in 2023 as a first-time competitor in the strongest field in GGN history. “This year, he’s on equal footing with everyone else, since the GGN course has moved from the Tofta shooting range—after 40 years—to a new location in Hejdeby on Gotland,” says Conny Bohlin of the organizer, Nordic Sport & Event.

– Thomas Klarkner, Team Manager for Team Sherco Sweden, is incredibly excited about this year’s GGN 2.0; competing with Hamish Macdonald on the new GGN course will be incredibly exciting. This weekend, Hamish Macdonald will compete in his final World Enduro GP race in France. He’ll then head to Sweden to race in the final round of the Swedish Enduro Championship in Gävle, where he can secure the overall title in the Swedish Enduro Championship. In the lead-up to GGN, Hamish will be training and preparing in Italy for GGN 2.0, says Thomas Klarkner.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro race, and in 2023, a total of 3,400 riders from about 15 different countries took part. In 2024, the race will be held October 24–26 in Hejdeby on Gotland.
