A license is required to participate in the Sport D/H and Youth Sport P/F classes.
Youth Sport (Boys and Girls, ages 9–14).
Cyclists who turn 9–14 years old during the calendar year and hold a Youth Men/Women or Under 11 Men/Women competition license, or who purchase a one-time license at the time of the competition, are eligible to participate in the Youth Sport class.
Men’s Sport (Men 15 years and older)
To be eligible to compete in the Men’s Sport class, a cyclist must turn at least 15 years old during the calendar year—or at least 17 years old for Cross Country Long Distance races—and must hold a competition license or purchase a one-time license at the time of the race.
For more information about licenses, see scf.se/licenser
No license is required to participate in the recreational class; insurance is provided through SCF/GGN, but we recommend a recreational license that provides coverage for the entire season. Full-year recreational insurance is available for these participants; for more information, click here: https://scf.se/forbundet/tavlingsverksamhet/tavlingslicens-chip-och-forsakringar/svenska-cykelforbundets-motionsforsakring/

TECHNICAL ZONE
A Technical Zone is located in a designated area at the turnaround and finish line. This zone must be used for all technical maintenance of the bicycle.
SUPPLY AREA
A supply area will be located adjacent to the technical zone. It is to be used for all deliveries of beverages, food, clothing, etc.
TIMING
The race uses electronic timing equipment. Each competitor is responsible for carrying the borrowed transponder throughout the entire race, in accordance with the organizer’s instructions. The transponder records lap times and split times during the race. Participants can also be tracked live via the websitewww.gotlandgrandnational.se.Transponders not returned will be billed 1,250 SEK retroactively by the organizer. If the transponder is not returned or paid for, the participant will not be allowed to start in the following year’s GGN MTB. For instructions on how to attach the transponder and race number plates to your bike, see the instructions on the check-in envelope.
RACE NUMBERS
Race numbers will be assigned at the end of September and published on the start list atwww.gotlandgrandnational.se.Number tags will be provided by the organizer—one to attach to the back and one to attach to the handlebars.
START TIMES
The start time for all classes is 1:00 p.m.
The starting groups are divided as follows: the Sport class starts in the first group, the Youth Sport class in the second group, and the Recreation class in the third group. The maximum number of participants in each group is limited to 30 cyclists.
ENVIRONMENT
Each participant and their team/accompanying persons must respect the environment. This means, among other things, that everyone should use the trash cans provided at the competition site or take their trash with them when leaving the competition site.
REGISTRATION
Registration takes place in the registration tent at the race venue on Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. There, you will pick up your registration envelope containing your race number and a loaner transponder. Please provide your race number.
INSPECTION
Bicycles must comply with the applicable competition rules; a commissioner will inspect the bicycles at the start.
TIRES
Given the track surface, keep this in mind when choosing tires; we recommend installing tires that are a bit coarser and can withstand more “wear and tear.”
TRANSPONDER
The transponder will be tested in the inspection tent near the check-in area. Directional signs are posted in the area.
SCORING
The participant in each class who completes the most laps in the shortest time within the specified time limit is the winner of that class. It is up to each participant to keep an eye on the warning light when the riding time is over. All participants who have completed at least one lap will be included in the results list. All participants who start will receive a commemorative medal, and trophies will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place in the Sport category.
PRIZE MONEY IN THE SPORT CATEGORY

GGN CHALLENGE
The GGN Challenge is an extra challenge in which participants ride Thursday’s GGN MTB (all classes) and compete in Friday’s or Saturday’s GGN MC. Everyone who participates in the GGN Challenge and completes at least one lap in each race will receive a GGN Challenge medal. The medal will be awarded when you return your transponder for the MC race. To participate in the GGN Challenge, you must register for both races separately and notify us atinfo@nordicsportevent.sethat you intend to participate in the GGN Challenge.
PUBLICATION OF RESULTS
The results will be posted at the competition venue near the check-in tent as soon as possible after the grace period has expired for each class. The results are also available on the website,www.gotlandgrandnational.se. The protest period is 30 minutes after the results have been posted. Fee: Protests must be accompanied by a protest fee (500 SEK) paid immediately. The fee, which is set by the SCF, will be refunded if the protest is upheld. If the protest is rejected, the fee must be paid to the SCF by the person responsible. It is each participant’s responsibility to monitor their results in accordance with the above.
AWARDS CEREMONY
All participants will receive a medal, which will be handed out when you return your transponder at the check-in tent. The awards ceremony for the Sport class (1st–3rd place) will take place in the exhibition area after the race has ended; please see the information in the memo that will be sent via email prior to the race.
LIABILITY
All participants are covered by personal injury insurance during the competition. In the various classes, insurance is provided through the SCF (Recreational) or via the participant’s license (Competitive). During the competition at the new venue, there is a total ban on operating any type of motorized vehicle (this applies to the entire competition area and off the track). Should anyone (including service personnel, team members, or family members of competitors) unexpectedly violate these regulations, the person in question will be suspended from GGN for the following year. All individuals with a vehicle permit may drive to and from their designated pit area. All competitors may drive to the starting area prior to their start at a maximum speed of 30 km/h. This means that others—including service personnel, team members, or family members—must travel on foot or by bicycle.
We must take this step so that GGN can continue to operate for many years to come in the new area, which is protected from water pollution, while respecting the interests of landowners and nearby residents.
UNAUTHORIZED DRIVING IN THE AREA
Any form of unauthorized driving in the area and on the GGN track outside of competition for the remainder of the year is strictly prohibited. You must understand that we will not be able to organize GGN in future years if you do not follow this simple rule. We have promised landowners and authorities that you will not abuse this privilege. We will permanently ban anyone caught from competing at GGN.
HEALTH CARE
Nurses and medical staff will be on site on the day of the competition.
