STEVE HOLCOMBE, SEVEN (7) TIME WORLD CHAMPION FROM THE UK, IS READY FOR THE GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL!
The world’s largest enduro competition—the Gotland Grand National—is being held for the 40th consecutive year. It has secured a world-renowned name for this year’s competition through its partner, BETA Scandinavia.
– Steve Holcombe, from the UK and a rider for the BETA Factory Team, is coming to Gotland, and GGN is a big deal. He is a seven (7)-time world champion and a two (2)-time Italian champion. He’s also currently leading the World Cup series this year. He could win the entire GGN even if Swedish riders like Micke Persson and Albin Elowson are always up front near the finish line, says Conny Bohlin from the organizer Nordic Sport & Event.
Henrik Lindqvist of GGN partner Beta Scandinavia says the following:
– Our CEO, Christer Granquist, has been in talks with Steve and Beta Factory Racing for several years to secure a spot for Steve at GGN. It feels great to be heading to Gotland with Steve to compete for the GGN title. With seven World Championship titles under his belt and currently leading the Enduro GP, the goal is, of course, victory. However, Steve remains humble about the competition and is aware of the tough field. Steve will be at the Beta Scandinavia tent with several of our other Beta Scandinavia NTEK Racing riders throughout the weekend. You’ll find us, just like last year, in the middle of the exhibition street.
The Gotland Grand National has also increased the prize money for the top male and female finishers, and for the 2023 GGN, the top male and female finishers will each take home 75,000 SEK. Second place will receive 35,000 SEK, and third place will receive 15,000 SEK.
The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro competition, with over 3,000 participants from approximately seventeen different countries each year. In 2023, the competition will be held October 26–28 at the Tofta shooting range on Gotland.
