WORLD CHAMPION JANE DANIELS FROM THE UK IS READY FOR THE GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL!

With (3) three world championship titles in 2019, 2020, and 2022, and currently leading the 2023 World Championship (FIM ENDUROGP) with two rounds remaining, Jane Daniels is ready for this year’s Gotland Grand National. This year’s GGN will feature the world champions from both the women’s and men’s divisions on the starting line. The earlier press release stated that seven-time (7) world champion Steve Holcombe is ready for this year’s GGN.

The world’s largest enduro competition—the Gotland Grand National, now in its 40th consecutive year—continues to invest in putting together a strong field of competitors for its 40th anniversary.

Now a world-class star on the women’s side is also ready for this year’s GGN. Jane Daniels of the UK, a factory rider for FANTIC, is coming to Gotland and GGN in October. She currently leads the World Cup series. “Jane will compete against the strong Swedish women,” says Conny Bohlin of the organizer Nordic Sport & Event, noting that last year’s winner, Tyra Bäckström, runner-up Hanna Berzelius, and third-place finisher Linnea Åkesson will be at the starting line if they choose to compete.

Jane Daniels says through our agent Gjermund Frostad that she is looking forward to coming to Gotland and this year’s GGN. Jane herself says she is coming to win but is aware that the strong Swedish riders know the GGN course well and that she will have to ride hard in the first laps to keep up before she gets to know the course herself.

“We, who organize the world’s largest enduro competition, aim for GGN to become even more established worldwide. So it’s only natural that we work to bring these world-class stars to Gotland and GGN,” Conny Bohlin adds. “We have 350 children and young people on the starting line, ranging in age from 5 to 15, and it’s so much fun for them to see their idols in person at GGN.”

The Gotland Grand National has also increased the prize money for the top male and female finishers, and for the 2023 GGN, the top male and female finishers will each take home 75,000 SEK. Second place will receive 35,000 SEK, and third place will receive 15,000 SEK.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro competition, with over 3,000 participants from approximately seventeen different countries each year. In 2023, the competition will be held October 26–28 at the Tofta shooting range on Gotland.
