SHELBY TURNER READY FOR GGN
PRESS RELEASE August 5, 2026
MULTIPLE-TIME CHAMPION FROM CANADA, SHELBY TURNER, IS SET FOR THE 2026 GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL!
The world’s largest enduro race, the Gotland Grand National (GGN), can now announce yet another top international name for this year’s event. Canadian enduro star Shelby Turner is set to compete in the 2026 Gotland Grand National.
Shelby Turner joins GGN with a track record that includes seven U.S. championships, a victory at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), and multiple Canadian championships in enduro and motocross. Shelby Turner rides for the Enduro Engineering Triumph Race Team in North America and will ride for the Johansson Triumph Race Team during GGN.
“We’ve previously announced world-class athletes such as Jessica Gardiner from Australia and Rachel Gutish from the U.S., and now we’ve secured Shelby Turner from Canada. It’s incredibly exciting to see these international stars compete against our talented Swedish and Norwegian women, as we’ve never had such a distinguished field of competitors before,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event.
“I’m coming to Gotland and the GGN to stand on the podium. I’ve heard about the world’s largest enduro race, the Gotland Grand National, and now I’ll finally get to stand on the starting line in this major race,” says Shelby Turner.
“The fact that Shelby Turner will now be competing as well is further proof that our international efforts are paying off,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event.
We want the Gotland Grand National to be the go-to venue where the world’s elite meet the general public. When the world’s best riders come to Gotland, they inspire the next generation. Our young girls and boys get the chance to experience the world stars up close and see what it takes to reach the top.
Nordic Sport & Event is working purposefully to increase the number of female participants and create the world’s strongest field of competitors on the women’s side as well. The goal is to have 300 women at the starting line, and several major partners are backing this initiative.
“We’re investing just as much in the women’s competition as in the men’s. It’s about equal opportunities, equal exposure, and equal prize money. With these superstars on board, we’re strengthening the Gotland Grand National’s position as one of the world’s most attractive enduro races,” says Conny Bohlin.
At the same time, Nordic Sport & Event is continuing its extensive international efforts surrounding the event. During the race weekend, 12 hours of live television coverage will be produced and distributed to both national and international audiences, while a record-high prize purse of over 400,000 kronor will be awarded. These efforts are intended to further strengthen the Gotland Grand Nationals’ international status and attract the world’s top drivers to Gotland.
