SHELBY TURNER READY FOR GGN
PRESS RELEASE – August 5, 2026
MULTIPLE CHAMPION FROM CANADA, SHELBY TURNER, CONFIRMED FOR GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL 2026!
The world’s largest enduro race, Gotland Grand National (GGN), is proud to announce another major international name for this year’s event. Canadian enduro star Shelby Turner has officially confirmed her participation in Gotland Grand National 2026.
Shelby Turner arrives at GGN with an outstanding racing résumé, including seven AMA Women’s EnduroCross Championship titles, an International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) victory, and multiple Canadian championships in both enduro and motocross. Turner competes for the Enduro Engineering Triumph Race Team in North America and will represent the Johansson Triumph Race Team at GGN.
“We have already announced world-class riders such as Australia’s Jessica Gardiner and America’s Rachel Gutish, and now we can add Canada’s Shelby Turner to the list. It is incredibly exciting to see these international stars compete against our talented Swedish and Norwegian women riders. We have never before had such a highly accomplished women’s field,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event.
“I’m coming to Gotland and GGN to stand on the podium. I’ve heard so much about the world’s largest enduro race, Gotland Grand National, and I’m excited to finally line up on the starting grid for this incredible event,” says Shelby Turner.
“The addition of Shelby Turner is yet another confirmation that our international strategy is producing results,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event.
“Our ambition is for Gotland Grand National to be the natural meeting place where the world’s elite riders compete alongside thousands of amateur racers. When the best riders in the world come to Gotland, they inspire the next generation. Young girls and boys have the opportunity to experience these world-class athletes up close and see what it takes to reach the highest level.”
Nordic Sport & Event is also working strategically to increase female participation and build the strongest women’s field in enduro. The goal is to have 300 women on the starting line, supported by several major partners.
“We are investing just as much in the women’s race as in the men’s. It’s about equal opportunities, equal exposure, and equal prize money. With these superstars on the start line, Gotland Grand National further strengthens its position as one of the world’s most attractive enduro events,” says Conny Bohlin.
At the same time, Nordic Sport & Event continues its extensive international investment in the event. During race weekend, 12 hours of live television coverage will be produced and distributed to both national and international audiences. The event will also feature record prize money exceeding SEK 400,000 (36,000 Euro). These initiatives are designed to further strengthen Gotland Grand National’s international reputation and attract the world’s best riders to Gotland.
