TEN-TIME WORLD CHAMPION STEVE HOLCOMBE SET FOR GGN
PRESS RELEASE August 10, 2026
WORLD STAR – TEN-TIME WORLD CHAMPION STEVE HOLCOMBE SET FOR THE 2026 GOTLAND GRAND NATIONAL.
The world’s largest enduro race, the Gotland Grand National (GGN), can now announce yet another internationally renowned rider for this year’s event. British enduro star Steve Holcombe, one of the world’s most successful enduro riders of all time, is set to compete in the 2026 Gotland Grand National.
Steve Holcombe is coming to Gotland after securing his tenth world championship title in the FIM Enduro World Championship this past weekend. With four world titles in EnduroGP—the most prestigious title in international enduro—and a total of ten world championship titles, Holcombe belongs to an exclusive group of riders who have made their mark in the sport’s history books.
“It’s fantastic to welcome Steve Holcombe to the Gotland Grand National. He is one of the biggest names in international enduro and a rider who has inspired an entire generation,” says Conny Bohlin, CEO of Nordic Sport & Event.
Holcombe rides for Sherco Factory Racing and has been one of the most dominant riders in the world over the past decade. He is known for his technical riding, his consistency, and his ability to perform at the very highest level—regardless of terrain and conditions.
“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Gotland and GGN. “The last time I was here in 2023, I finished in second place, and now I’m coming to win,” says Steve Holcombe. “Steve will be racing under the SHERCO SWEDEN banner and will receive all the support and backing he needs to compete for the victory,” adds TEAM SHERCO SWEDEN Team Manager Thomas Klarkner.
Holcombe is yet another big name in the international campaign that Nordic Sport & Event is carrying out ahead of this year’s Gotland Grand National. Previously, the organizer has announced world-class stars such as Rachel Gutish from the U.S., Jessica Gardiner from Australia, Shelby Turner from Canada, and Will Dennett from Australia.
“We want the Gotland Grand National to be the go-to venue where the world’s elite meet the general public. When the world’s top riders come to Gotland, they inspire the next generation. Our young girls and boys get the chance to see world champions up close and dream of standing there themselves one day,” says Conny Bohlin.
At the same time, Nordic Sport & Event is continuing its extensive international efforts surrounding the event. During the race weekend, 12 hours of live television coverage will be produced and distributed to both national and international audiences, while a record-high prize purse of over 400,000 kronor will be awarded. These efforts are intended to further strengthen the Gotland Grand Nationals’ international status and attract the world’s top drivers to Gotland.
