Junior world champion Hamish Macdonald returns to GGN

NEW ZEALAND JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPION HAMISH MACDONALD RETURNS TO WIN ON GOTLAND!

The world’s biggest enduro race — Gotland Grand National, held for the 41st year — has confirmed, through its partner Team Sherco Sweden, that Hamish Macdonald will return to GGN 2.0 in 2024.

– Hamish Macdonald who took a fine third place in 2023 as a first timer in the strongest starting field in GGN’s history. This year, he has the same conditions as all others as the GGN track has moved from the Tofta shooting range after 40 years to the new area in Hejdeby on Gotland, says Conny Bohlin from the organizer Nordic Sport & Event.

– Thomas Klarkner, Team Manager for Team Sherco Sweden, looks forward to this year’s GGN 2.0; getting to line up with Hamish Macdonald on the new GGN track will be extremely exciting. Hamish Macdonald runs his last race in the World Enduro GP in France this weekend. Then, he goes to Sweden to ride the last SM Enduro sub-competition of the year in Gävle, where he can secure overall victory in the Swedish Enduro Championship. In the time leading up to GGN, Hamish will train and load up in Italy for GGN 2.0, says Thomas Klarkner.

The Gotland Grand National is the world’s largest enduro competition. In 2023, 3,400 participants from about 15 nations started the competition. In 2024, it will be held from 24 to 26 October in Hejdeby, Gotland.
